Koinonia Bishop House

The Jacobite Syrian Christian Church, dates back to the very dawn of Christianity, was founded by the apostle St. Thomas who came to India in A.D. 52. It is an integral part of the Universal Syriac Orthodox Church under the ecclesiastical authority of the Patriarch of Antioch and all the East, His Holiness Moran Mor Ignatius Aphrem II. The regional head of the Church in India was the Catholicose. Ankamaly Diocese, the largest diocese of the Church, was divided into three regions during 1990's, namely, High Range, Kothamangalam and Ankamaly. The Bishop's House, Koinonia was founded as the office of the Ankamaly Region. Later, when the diocese was again divided into four by instituting the new region of Perumbavoor, Koinonia has become the office of the new region. Even though the diocese started functioning of another region called Muvattupuzha in 2014 by comprising some churches from Perumbavoor and Kothamangalam regions, Koinonia still functions as the office of the Perumbavoor Region as well as the abode of her present Bishop, His Grace Mor Aphrem Mathews.

Bishop's Message

In recent years, church websites have become an indispensable tool for faith-based organizations. These serve as a virtual front door, welcoming both members and newcomers alike and providing a snapshot of what our community is all about. With the rise of the internet, your church's website can significantly impact your ability to connect with people and spread your message. For these reasons church websites are now a critical component of a modern ministry. They offer an online platform to share your church's story, post updates on upcoming events and provide resources for spiritual growth. Whether it's through live-streamed services or downloadable sermon podcasts, your website can become a hub for community engagement and outreach.

Koinonia Bishop House's website is the online expression of life and mission of perumbavoor region. This online platform will serve with multiple functions, providing essential information of our Diocese programmes and updates which will help the communication to be easier virtually..
